Introducing ORII TAKEOVERS... Each month they’re inviting a band, a collective or label we love to come through and take over the Monday jam session.

We’re proud that this month’s take over will be hosted by the one and only COLECTIVA.

COLECTIVA explore the spaces between Afro-Latin music and Jazz while reflecting on themes of sisterhood and female empowerment.

Crafting thoughtful arrangements rooted in the sonorities of Africa, Latin America and the diaspora, they have birthed a sound affectionately dubbed jazz tropicaliente (hot-tropical-jazz), rich in bold horn lines, jazz harmony and Afro-Latin groove.

This edition of Orii Takeover will be centering womxn, cisgender, trans, non-binary, intersex, gender non-conforming members of the Orii community.
